Thanks For Stopping By

Below are a few simple terms that outline how I work at Darren Moody Web Design. Nothing scary — just a bit of clarity so we both know what to expect.

Before any project begins, I’ll usually send over a more detailed proposal, quote, or invoice outlining the agreed work, timelines, and payment terms. If you ever have any questions, just ask — I’m always happy to chat things through.

1. Services

I provide website design, redesign, SEO, website maintenance, and general website support services tailored to each client and business. Every project is different, so the scope of work and estimated timelines will be discussed before work begins.

2. Communication & Collaboration

Good communication makes every project run more smoothly. I aim to respond promptly and keep you updated throughout the process.

Clients may be asked to provide content, images, logos, login details, or feedback during the project. Delays in communication or missing content may affect project timelines.

3. Payments

A deposit may be required before work begins, with the remaining balance due upon completion unless otherwise agreed.

For ongoing services such as maintenance, hosting, or support plans, payments are typically billed monthly or annually depending on the service provided.

Late payments may result in delays, paused work, or temporary suspension of services until payment is received.

4. Refunds & Cancellations

Deposits and payments made are generally non-refundable once work has begun, as time is reserved and work is carried out specifically for each project.

If a project is cancelled after work has started, any completed work up to that point may still be chargeable.

In the unlikely event that I’m unable to complete the agreed work, any unused portion of payments made will be refunded where appropriate.

5. Revisions & Changes

Projects include a reasonable number of revisions to help get everything looking right. Additional changes or major revisions outside the original scope of work may be quoted separately.

6. Ownership

Once a project has been completed and fully paid for, ownership of the final website content belongs to the client.

I may showcase completed work within my portfolio or social media unless requested otherwise.

7. Website Maintenance & Aftercare

Support is provided after launch for minor fixes or questions where appropriate. Ongoing maintenance, updates, backups, content edits, or technical support can also be arranged through a maintenance or support plan.

8. Third-Party Services

Some websites may rely on third-party platforms or services such as WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, plugins, hosting providers, payment gateways, or external integrations.

While I aim to use reliable tools and services, I cannot be held responsible for outages, changes, security issues, or pricing updates caused by third-party providers.

9. SEO & Search Rankings

Websites are built following SEO best practices wherever possible. However, search engine rankings and traffic cannot be guaranteed, as these depend on many factors outside of my control.

10. Browser Compatibility & Technical Support

Websites are designed to work across modern browsers and devices. If support for older browsers or specific systems is required, this should be discussed before the project begins.

11. Privacy & Security

Any login credentials, business information, or personal details shared during a project will be handled securely and never shared without permission. I take privacy seriously and aim to follow UK GDPR best practices wherever applicable.

12. Respect & Fair Use

I aim to provide a friendly, professional service at all times and ask the same in return. I reserve the right to pause or end a project if communication breaks down, deadlines are repeatedly ignored, or behaviour becomes inappropriate or abusive.

Thankfully, this is very rare.
